dump con ed
i think that the time has come to dump con ed. they have proven to be wholely incompetant in the last week with the blackout/brownout in astoria queens. the continued blackouts in westchester.
it took 5 days for the head of con ed to even address the situation.

this harkens back to 1986 when the head of LILCO was out of town during hurricane gloria and didnt see fit to come back to oversee the situation or make any comments about the length of time it was taking to restore power. LIPA was formed in the wake of this (and shoreham)and eventually took over lilco power transmission.

the time has come for the same to happen to con ed. for it to be taken over by a state corporation similar to LIPA, or even LIPA itself. an immediate rate drop will come as it did with LIPA, better service as they will answer to the state and the consumers instead of stockholder only concerned about the bottom line.

1. Talk to Spitzer, our next governor.
Right now, Pataki is refusing any help at all.
