Hillary's potential (R) Senate opponent suspends campaign
KT McFarland suspends campaign -- Daughter arrested on shoplifting charges

http://www.ny1.com/ny1/content/index.jsp?stid=1&aid=61980

McFarland's spokesperson says she is be no means dropping out of the race, just taking time off to deal with the situation with her daughter, Camilla. The 16-year old was arrested on Saturday, caught shoplifting from two stores in Suffolk County.
...
In a statement, McFarland says: "My husband Alan and I are deeply alarmed by this incident and will be spending every waking hour in the coming days dealing head on with the repercussions of her actions. Our children are our first priority, and our youngest child needs our full and immediate attention."

The announcement comes at the height of the campaign season. McFarland, a former Pentagon official during the Reagan administration, faces a primary on September 12 against former Yonkers Mayor John Spencer. The two have been in a nasty battle to win the right to take on Hillary Clinton.

This is all the more reason for Hillary to at least debate Tasini. NYer deserve a choice -- at least between 2 people who kids are deliquents. The Repubs won't be fielding any candidates worth looking at. Spencer has his own disgraceful issues.
