http://www.petitiononline.com/ch4ny123/petition.htmlI witnessed a horse around the corner from my home on East 62 Street, go down from heat exhuastion in the 80's. His name was "Whitey". Even though I pleaded with the driver to let me call friends that were vets, he said "no". I knew the horse was going to die and had it not been for a nurse that knew it too, he would have. She got fluids and he lived. From the outcry of citizens in NY, the horse was retired. We seemed to care more then. We've been trying for years to get this banned, but it just seems that our pleas land on deaf ears.
These horses are abused daily. You know, you all see them on the street, in freezing weather standing there, in the heat and humidity which affects them a lot more than us.
Please help. Thanks.
Sol.
