Election officials also expect to complete recanvassing today in Yorktown in the House of Representatives race between incumbent Sue Kelly, R-Katonah, and Democrat John Hall. Hall has held an advantage of thousands of votes in that race, but Kelly has refused to concede.

Under the weight of thousands of machine votes favoring their Democratic opponents, longtime Republican incumbents U.S. Rep. Sue Kelly of Katonah and state Sen. Nick Spano of Yonkers conceded yesterday.

Kelly, a six-term incumbent, yielded in the race for the 19th Congressional District seat to challenger John Hall, a singer-songwriter and former Ulster County official who now lives in Dover Plains. On the voting-machine tally, Hall finished with a 4,282-vote lead over Kelly in the district, which covers all of Putnam and portions of Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess and Orange counties.
