Tomorrow's inauguration will proceed as planned as an outdoor ceremony in West Capitol Park. However, due to weather concerns, the time of the ceremony will be shifted back one hour to 1:00pm.
The processional will begin at 12:30pm and the swearing in itself will take place promptly at 1:00pm. We recommend that inaugural attendees arrive in West Capitol Park between 11:30am and Noon.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service have advised us that the worst of the incoming weather system will likely move through the Albany area before the start of our outdoor program. Although light rain is in the forecast, temperatures will be above freezing. We recommend that guests dress warmly in rain gear and bring umbrellas with them. Hot chocolate will be provided and an indoor viewing area will be located in Chancellor's Hall in the Education Building.
All afternoon events will also be pushed back by one hour. Performances, wine tastings, and food station operating times in the concourse will be between 2:00pm and 6:00pm. The evening concert will start at 6:00pm (doors open at 4:00pm). The Executive Mansion and Capitol Building open houses will also be pushed back one hour. Group 1 will be at 2:30pm, Group 2 will be at 3:00pm, Group 3 will be at 3:30pm, and Group 4pm will be at 4:00pm. If you did not receive an email regarding one of the open houses, you were not selected in the lottery to participate.
As many of you know, requests for the evening concert have been overwhelming. If any tickets remain, they will be released to the public on a first-come, first-served basis at the Times Union Center box office starting at 5:00pm.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

And they have buses available, got this on the 27th but may be worth a try for those who don't want to do the drive:
As you may know, there has been unprecendented and overwhelming interest in the inaugural ceremonies related to Day One. New Yorkers statewide have RSVP'ed and requested tickets to celebrate New York with Governor-Elect Eliot Spitzer and Lt. Governor-Elect David Paterson.
Enough of an interest has been shown in several cities throughout the state that Inauguration: New York has chartered buses. Bus service will be provided from Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse/Utica, Watertown, and New York City. Buses will arrive in West Capitol Park by 11am and depart Albany from the Times Union Center parking lot following the inaugural concert.
You can reserve a seat on a bus by emailing bus@inaugurationny.org. Space is limited and available on a first come, first-served basis.
We look forward to seeing you on Day One.
