Will government offices be closed Jan 2 (for Ford?)
I know the schools are open, but offices?

I think the States will be up and running (hence the open schools)

No mail delivery and some banks closed.

A day of mourning. It's traditional to shut down the federal government when an ex-President dies.

4. All postal service closed
Schools make their decision by local school district, unless the governor makes a state decision. Federal offices and the US Postal Service is closed.

5. Here in VA 
the VA is going to keep the Medical Center in Richmond open on
Tuesday. The email I got said it was to help those veterans
who served with Ford.
