1. The City's insurance should cover at least part of it.
Unfortunately, we will have to pick up the rest of the tab. It was, after, people acting on our behalf that caused the crash.

To avoid such bills in the future, we need to start demanding oversight of all city functions. Good luck with Bloomberg in office, though.

5. And who pays for the city's insurance?
Edited on Mon Feb-26-07 11:44 PM by PaulHo
I'm far from expert, but won't said insurance cost *more*?

Sort of like what happens when you crash your car into a telephone pole while 'looking under the seat for a grilled cheese sandwich' ( actually happened to bandmember... I think it was Jefferson Starship... a few years back).

3. Well, that's what you get...
... when you elect a Repug mayor. If Green were mayor instead of Ghouliani, no doubt there would have been better ferry standards.

6. No argument here, but....
... I believe Bloomberg ( aka Mr. Efficiency, also a republican) was Mayor when the boat crashed, not The Ghoulish One.

7. Whoops!
You're right, it was Bloomberg.

In the end, it doesn't matter anyway... all the Repug mayors are the same... corrupt, arrogant and they steal elections. Seriously, do you really believe that the Repugs won the mayoral elections four times in a row in New York City. (As a point of reference, keep in mind that on the City Council there are less than five Repugs out of 51).

8. Yeah, they did
The 2001 election was stolen all right - with the cooperation of both parties. But when Ferrer came back for a rematch, the result was the same.
