I realize DU is trying to keep comments related to the primary within GD: P, but I'd really like to ask my fellow New Yorkers how her campaign has influenced your opinion.

I thought about doing this as a poll, but the New York forum is slow (I still see Spitzer threads!), and trying to fill out the various potential opinions made my head hurt.

2. I support her as a Senator.. I thought it was good that she got into

the Presidential race. I am very very very disappointed that she seems to be unable to go gracefully. I think she is soiling all the "peace & prosperity" feeling left over from the Clinton years. .

This scorched earth politics never belonged in the Democratic party..

3. HRC is fine ... was when I sent my first contribution a decade ago

and makes me happy today. Her history suggests she'll adapt and improve ... personally, I'm looking for her to be our next governor!

I voted for her against Rick Lazio, the now-unknown Long Islander who took over when Giuliani dropped out. I was afraid that he had a chance of winning. But after Hillary voted for the Iraq war, I vowed I'd never vote for her again.

Hillary's one more reason not to talk politics with people you don't know. I'd rather discuss the national situation with a Republican than with a Hillary supporter.

senator. I supported her initital run against Lazio but she quickly decided to conform to the prevailing political culture of the NYS party.... meaning she's way to the right and out of step with the nat'l party.

We are awash in junk 'news' media here, up to our eyeballs really: Murdoch, Zuckerman, Bloomberg, Judith Miller etc. etc. etc. . No wonder Clinton's popular here. People on the whole don't know any better. Most people didn't even know she had a primary candidate in the 06 senate race.... that's how effectively political information is managed here.

I'd say the political IQ in this state is lower than any place north of the Mason-Dixon line.

in 2000 I could not yet vote, but only lukewarmly supported her- it was obvious to me that she just wanted to run for president and I would have prefered someone whose interests foremost were in NY.
in 2004 I first supported Tasini and then voted for Hawkins.

I supported Kucinich, then Obama/Edwards.

I do not support her as Senator today and hope Tasini makes another try in the 2012 primary.

everyday I wake up and read the news on the democratic primary, and the largest reaction I have is FOR FUCK SAKE WHY IS THIS STILL GOING!

Hilary commanded almost half of the votes in the primaries and weilds alot of power within the Democrat party . To simply dismiss her and tell her to now go away will be another politicial blunder in a long list of blunders our party seems to keep making . Apprently since our last great President, Bill Cinton when the biggest economic growth took place ,unemployment reached record low levels ,etc ,etc ! People dont want to go back to the 90's ,well with what we have now, the 90's look pretty darn good. Hillary would be a asset to Obama in whatever part of his bid for office they agree on ,and if he thinks he can go this road with out her ,then he has already made his first big blunder! To unit our party as one strong force against the muti nationial corperations and the milatary industrial complex that has control over what we hear in our daily news and just about evrything else and they will strongly try to cheat steal and do whatever they have to to have McCain as our next Pres. Do you think it was not by design that from day one the media would buld up Obama,while taking every pot shot at Hillary they could come up with up ! If you dont believe this was for a reason ,like helping such a sad choice the republicians have made in McCain. If we still did our primaries the old way, Hillary would have won this along time ago getting all the delegates from the largest states ! I remember as a young boy interested in politics that they always picked who they wanted to represent the party at the convention. I will vote for Obama and support him strongly now that he is our choice ,however I give Hillary a big thumbs up for demanding the respect she deserves. To ignore her will be at your own demise ! Lets get smart and unite ,there is to much at stake !

11. I'm pretty disturbed by the campaign

I voted for her for the senate both times. I never was in favor of her running for president. It wasn't just the baggage. I didn't care for the family dynasty thing at all. I voted for Obama in the primary and at that point was still perfectly content with her as our senator. After watching the campaign devolve I'm much less happy with her in general. If she does run for the senate again, I'll certainly take a look at any primary opponents she may have. I still would vote for her if she's the Democratic nominee. It's quite a while until her term is up. I guess we'll see how things go in the next few years.

I wish the Clintons would find a new home state. Honestly, the people around where I live were starstruck and she has not had a competitive opponent. However, our State Party runs very roughshod and I am certain they keep their decisions to the smoky back room.

For Gov. I think that Bloomberg will run if Patterson chooses not to. I don't want the Clintons in Albany (shudder).
