The two vendors are:

Both are optical-scan systems with paper trails

1. The Devil is in the details.
Without a law stipulated risk-based auditing of the results of all races, it doesn't matter how user-friendly the hardware is. This demonstration is a distraction from the real issue of uncheckable, insecure proprietary software. Furthermore, both those cos. are infamous for cheaply made units prone to breakdowns. If you are in the area, do try to make it over there and give the scanners a real workout like they would get on election day. However, even if they stay operational, this is no way to go.

2. I don't think either of these system's scanners have been approved for use in the state.
In fact I'm sure Sequoia's "crap" hasn't been.

The testing lab that was being used to test the ImageCast lost it's accreditation.

For use in 2009?

Fugetaboutit.

Keep the levers.
