Feds to monitor primary vote in Newburgh!

"When city residents vote in Tuesday’s primary, the federal government will be watching.
The Department of Justice announced on Monday it planned to monitor elections in Newburgh and Springfield, Mass., to ensure compliance with the Voting Rights Act of 1965...

He declined to say what led them to pick Newburgh...

Susan Bahren, an Orange County elections commissioner, said this would be the first time the feds had come to observe an election in the county... But she doesn’t know why they’re coming."

This is eerily similar to about 16 years ago when one of the City Council candidates convinced sheriffs to man the polls to scare off potential voters. And it reeks of scare tactics- by the City Manager at the time- against those getting public assistance in the early 60's that made national news.

There are two City Council candidates in tomorrow's primary who could, with a third member, blow the lid off the criminal element that runs this city. A County Legislator candidate in tomorrow's primary has the potential to not be the black patsy that has been in that office for 16 years. The incumbent has allowed the county to crap on this city continuously for all those 16 years.
