A good friend (professional man in his 50s) needs a place to stay for a month or so. Could help with rent, utilities, food, etc., but would need his own room/alcove/space.

He'd planned to go back to Switzerland (where he's currently living) on the 11th of this month but needs to stay through the month; he'd rather not book into a hotel for that length of time (nor does he want to pay thousands and thousands for 3-4 weeks).

Any borough is fine, so long as the place is within walking distance of the subway.
