If you have a chance today or early tomorrow, please email or call Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy at [phone] or [e-mail] with the following message:


I urge you to veto the line item allocations made under Omni Code DO33 in Budget Amendment 2. These line item allocations will cause a significant reduction in available support for those core cultural organizations and programs that have consistently provided the bulk of the cultural experiences that County residents and visitors enjoy and participate in. Please allow Suffolk County’s cultural organizations the opportunity to compete for available funds through grant applications reviewed Cultural Affairs Citizens Advisory Board.


If you feel comfortable doing so, please pass this request along to your friends in Suffolk County. These line item allocations circumvent the traditional process of applying for funds on an even playing field, and awards pet projects, reducing available funding to many of Suffolk County’s important cultural organizations, such as the Cinema Arts Centre.
