Any opinions on who to vote for
in the primary for Attorney General?

Schneiderman, Brodsky, Dinallo?
Rice was a Republican until a few years ago, don't trust her.
Did I miss anyone else?

Have no real idea who these people are.
Heard Schneiderman was the most pro union but maybe the others are too.

1. No idea-- never heard of most of them. I sent in an absentee ballot with...
nothing marked for AG.

In September I'll just vote for whoever wins the primary.

(And who the hell was this primarying Gillibrand?)

3. Yeah. Give 'em a dry run before September. And that article about Goode is...
all your gonna find out about her.

Positions? Experience? Endorsements?

None of that is anywhere to be found. (At least not easily)

4. Hope she didn't spend a lot
on this because it would have been better donated to some good cause. No one even knows her name.

10. I also looked up Gail Goode because I got an e-mail from her...
I'd never heard of her, either, and it seemed odd to me because I obviously get messages from Kirsten Gillibrand, since she represented us in NY-20. I looked up her website and she seemed okay to me, but I'm obviously biased towards Gillibrand because she represented us. I can't get Goode's site to come up today, but did find this post about her on Daily KOS... :hi:

I've got it narrowed down to Schneiderman or Dinallo.

8. My two cents from NYC
Edited on Tue Sep-14-10 12:54 AM by countmyvote4real
There are only two races in the NY Democratic primary that I am passionate about:

NY-14 Congressional Rep
NYS-AG

Carolyn Maloney is the incumbent in that race. She was the key author and supporter of the “Credit Card Bill of Rights” legislation that recently took affect limiting arbitrary interest rates and fees from that business sector. As punishment for standing up for consumers across the country, the CC industry has bankrolled a primary challenger.

More background from Wayne Barrett of the VV:
http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/archives/2010/08/reshma_saujanis.php

I’m voting for Carolyn Maloney, just as neighboring districts will be supporting progressives like Anthony Weiner and Jerrold Nadler.
--------------------
The NYS Attorney General spot is a bit more complicated. There are five contenders for A. Cuomo’s current office. I watched the debate on NY1 and came away with favorable feelings for only two.

Watch it here:

Frankly, I was surprised how “flakey” Kathleen Rice came off. You would never get that from the ads on DU.

My favorites are Sean Coffey and Eric Dinallo. I could use some input if anyone is out there.

UPDATE: I just read Renew Deal's link and I am going with Dinallo.

Brodsky and Schneiderman just seem too oily aka inside for me.
And then there’s this:

--------------------
Good luck. Allow extra time for the new voting machines. ☹

9. I looked up Kathleen Rice when I first starting seeing signs for her
Just to find out who she was. I was pretty impressed with her views on the issues, pro-choice, anti-death penalty, pro-gay rights, anti-Rockefeller drug laws. She sounds pretty progressive to me... :) :hi:
