Internet rumor about clothes at polls untrue, official says
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- An internet rumor saying people will not be allowed to vote election day if they are wearing McCain or Obama hats, shirts, pins, etc., is false, according to Mecklenburg County Director of Elections Michael Dickerson.

He says you can wear what you want as long as you are not electioneering.

"The problem comes if anybody stands in line and says, 'I think everybody should be voting for John Smith,' that's when you are electioneering and you have to stop," he said.
