Residents unhappy about KKK fliers

Some residents say the recent distribution of Ku Klux Klan fliers in their Onslow County neighborhoods is an act of desperation on the part of an antiquated organization.

The flier - distributed in the last few weeks by being wrapped in various unaffiliated magazines and newspapers with a rubber band and tossed out of a vehicle in neighborhoods like Brynn Marr and County Club Hill - uses mostly Christian and patriotic rhetoric.

County Club Hill area resident Sheryl Norris said she found two fliers in her yard last week, one wrapped around a newspaper and one wrapped around a car racing magazine.

"I look at this as ignorance and desperation," she told The Daily News, adding that hate-mongering groups like the KKK have no business in a modern society ...
