Prevention is the key to reducing unintended pregnancies and STDs. Parents overwhelmingly support comprehensive sex education and the Healthy Youth Act, but we need to keep the pressure on our state lawmakers to make this bill a reality.

Now the bill moves to the House Committee on Health. The Healthy Youth Act would require that every school district in NC have a comprehensive sex-ed curriculum in place (in addition to any abstinence program that is already in place) and allow parents to decide which program is right for their child.
