No other links about it on WRAL's website (that I know of) except this little paragraph on the bottom of this page: http://www.wral.com/business/story/9835466/

WRAL has been advertising the story on tv but not as much as I think they should.

The federal unemployment number doesn't tell the whole story. Cullen Browder dug into the data and has the details on the true jobless picture in North Carolina Monday at 6.

Hopefully there will be a video link.

ETA: You can make comments on the story on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/WRALTV

3. He loses all credibility right away
The traditional state and national unemployment numbers are based on household surveys and include only those who meet three criteria: They must be out of work, receiving benefits and actively seeking a new job.

Receiving benefits has NEVER been part of the criteria to be included as unemployed. Never.

4. Perhaps he meant that since those receiving benefits must actively look for work
in order to continue receiving benefits, this is counted as actively seeking employment?

5. But he was talking about being counted as unemployed
That requires not working but actively looking for work. Someone who turns 16 and starts looking for a summer job is unemployed by the government criteria.
