NC Voter Verified Paper Ballot bill passes 48 - 0

08/13/05 Bill SB 223 passed the Senate, goes to the Governor to be signed!
At approximately 1:15 PM today, the Senate concurred on SB 223!
The vote was 48 - 0

We want to personally thank, Sen. Kinnard, Sen. Clodfelter, Rep. Insko, Rep. Kiser, and Rep. Preston. Their patience and desire to see this Bill become Law is why we are enjoying this success.

All who have been making calls and sending e-mails should now do so again saying a great big Thank you. You may wish to contact your Senators and Representatives now and say thanks for passing it originally and encourage Concurrence.

Next step - we will need citizens in every county to work with us on making sure that the enactment of S 223 is successful, and that implementation is successful.

find it interesting and maybe they could use the format in their own states. It's great news and for all those who worked so hard on it, never giving up...like "Will Your Vote Be Counted" whose experience, contacts and incredible website were invaluable.
:woohoo:

2. Why can't every state do that?
How did such a disaster as removing paper trails ever happen? There is no reasonable judgement that would allow such a thing. It had to be a deliberate and vicious act to remove the paper trails.

At least NC did the right thing in seeing it did not happen here(finally).

13. Diebold will always suck
We have Diebold optical scanners in 18 or 19 counties, and they break down alot, they are so bad that the election officials have a
private support group!

Diebold just really really sucks.

14. Actually, we make state # 26 once Gov signs it
he has to get out of his NASCAR first, though.

9. Senator Ellie Kinnaird is a fine person
From the fine liberal enclave of Chapel Hill. Verla Insko is also a commendable public servant.

I'm proud of my state for leading on this issue. Let's take it to the other 49!

STOP RIGHT WING VOTER FRAUD! Until we can do that, many of our other efforts will be for naught.

This is how it's done in Carolina,
now you'll know your vote counts,
with a receipt there'll be no doubt...
now it's time to vote Hayes out, and turn our state around.
when we vote in Carolina, we'll be fine...

Apologies to James Taylor!
