Got this from Mac Whatley, thought I would pass it on:
First Day Greetings to all you Progressive Democrats!
Pete McDowell and I have been working for the last month or so to make sure that both our Progressive PAC and Caucus will have a productive and influential 2006.
To start with, we will be having a meeting of ALL Progressive Democrats just prior to the State Executive Committee meeting on Saturday January 28th.
Party Chairman Jerry Meek has agreed to reserve us a caucus room of our own at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh, where we will meet at 11AM before the SEC meeting at Noon. There will be other caucus meetings happening simultaneously- the YDC, the African-American Caucus, the Senior Democrats, etc.- but we request that you come to the Progressive Caucus, and provide visible proof of our growing influence and numbers among North Carolina Democrats!
We will discuss our joint PAC and Caucus legislative agenda for 2006, as well as the amendments to the Plan of Organization that are being proposed by Pete and Delmas. We will also discuss candidate recruitment and campaign educational programs that are being developed by the PAC, and the county leaders of the Caucus will vote on my nomination of a replacement for 2nd VP P.J. Puryear, who resigned to begin working for Congressman Brad Miller.
Please mark your calendars now to join us at the McKimmon Center at 11AM on the 28th, whether you are currently a member of the SEC or not. (Get yourself a proxy from someone who’s not planning to come- but come whether you have one or not!)
Have a great New Year!
-Mac Whatley
