Help - Need hotel recommendations for Durham near Duke
Hubby is taking the kid back to Duke for a basketball game. It's been years since we've been there. Hubby wants to stay at the Washington Duke Inn, but I am balking at the 279 minimum price per night for a friggin hotel room. They don't need anything fancy, just clean, safe and reasonably close to the Duke campus. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

2. Have you tried the Durham Hilton on Hillsborough Road?
It's about a 10 minute drive from campus.

Washington Duke in is nice if you want fancy or you play golf. It's a golf resort.

There are also a couple of smaller hotels around Duke hospital, mostly patients stay in those. I can get you a couple of those.

There's also the Millenium Hotel that's on 15-501, which would be about a 10 minute drive also.

3. Carolina Inn In Chapel Hill
The Carolina Crossroads restaurant is excellent as well. Plus, he'll see what a beautiful campus looks like. :smoke:

Seriously, if you want to not spend a lot, there is a Red Roof In on 15-501 just south of Durham. Then, you can afford to eat at Nana's in Durham. X-L-ENT Food.

4. Thanks!
Sounds like the Hilton will fit the bill. They'll have a car and will be close to one of hubby's favorite restaurants (Bullocks BBQ on Hillsborough Rd.)
