I'll cross-post this in both pets and local state forums.
My neighbor is having to move for work reasons, and can't take her dog with her. His name is Doobie, he is the SWEETEST little guy, all black with a white dot on his chest. My neighbor thinks he's a chihuahua/jack russell mix, but no one really knows. He has a chihuahua face, though, and weighs under 10 lbs.
I can't take him because I already have 7 cats, several of whom can't cope with dogs and I'm just overwhelmed enough with cat poop and cat hair and cat personalities, not to mention work and moving soon, as it is.
Doobie's easygoing, very well mannered and obedient, housetrained, neutered, and just a love. I would LOVE to take him, but I just don't see how I could manage it.
He lives with two cats right now, and is very cat friendly.
Please, if you know anyone who might love a small dog, or could add him to their family, let me know. I don't have a photo right now (neighbor isn't very tech-savvy) but will try to get one if someone expresses interest. Or I'll take a photo myself.
I currently live in western NC, and think he could very easily be 'delivered' in South Carolina, Georgia, throughout NC, Tennessee, and Virginia, though I'm sure arrangements could be made for his transport to a loving home anywhere in the country.
