Sgt. Ricky Clousing, an Iraq War veteran who refused a
second tour of duty owing to his Christian
convictions, will speak on campus Tuesday, Oct. 3, at
7:30 p.m. in the Community Center. Clousing's
experience in Iraq convinced him that the war was not
just; but he did not apply to be a conscientious
objector. He is not opposed to war in any form. Facing
court martial and a prison sentence, Clousing is being
assisted by Quaker House in Fayetteville, N.C., a
Friends military counseling center.
Clousing's visit is sponsored by Quaker House, Friends
Center, and the Social Concerns Committee of New
Garden Friends Meeting. The event is free and open to
the public.
