1. I wouldn't count on it...
but it isn't impossible, either.

Of course, I thought Webb was dead, and look where he is now :D

2. yep!
I am still hoping.... If he doesn't make it this time, I hope he will consider running again in 08. If we had a stronger top-of-the-ballot race, he would have won, no doubt. Plus, he will have some name recognition next time.

3. Just wanted to give you the update that he's 346 short and it appears
that if it stays near that, there will be a recount unless the provisionals go way outside the average they each received going in.

I think somebody, somewhere is kicking him/herself for not sending more money his way sooner - talking about DNC, etc. (I have to say a major THANK YOU to everyone in cities outside of our district who donated money to his campaign, it amazed me to see the support of so many who saw in Larry what those of us volunteering for him did). We couldn't have asked for a better candidate, coming back from being the long long-shot underdog to a 50-50 race is awesome (although having a win last night would have been nice too)!!

4. "This is too good of a story to end tonight."
Go Larry!!!!!!! Keep fighting!!!!!

Did the missing votes from Mecklenburg come in? According to the meck BOE website there are some problems with machines, mostly in dem leaning precincts, and those votes haven't been counted yet. Provisionals tend to break 2-1 for the dems, so that could be good news, too. If Larry wins this thing and we get senate results certified then ALL my political dreams have come true!

I don't know why people didn't see more potential in the 8th. Very young, inexperienced dems have done well there before. Always seemed to me that we had a shot.

You should post that article separately in this forum and in LBN. Very interesting. And please keep us updated on developments!

5. When I checked the Meck BoE, it had 100% reporting so it's just
prov. that are left (if I'm not mistaken).
I'll take your advice and get this info about our fighting dems out there.

7. That's true, there were problems with the new machines
My mom is the Democratic judge in her precinct(#33) and she said that only one of their 4 machines was functioning when the polls opened at 6:30am. She said they had a bit of a line and some people left in a huff because they had to wait. She can't remember if all of them returned later in the day to vote.

According to her it took the better part of the morning to get them all up and running. Then she said the one that was working when the polls opened quit and they had to send out a repairman from the Elections Board to fix it.

Her district is mostly Democratic so I was rather skeptical about why these machines broke down. Turns out she heard about other precincts having similar problems.

Hope this isn't a reoccurring problem.
