Turtle killed with machete; teen jailed

MORRISVILLE - Police say a boy pulled a 30-pound turtle out of the woods Friday, plunked it down in a nearby apartment complex's breezeway and then hacked it to death with a 2-foot-long machete.

Apartment residents watched the teenager chop apart the turtle and called the authorities.

Police arrested Clifford Brandon Harris, 17, of 1116 Westshore Court in Morrisville, (NC) and charged him with animal cruelty and spray painting a neighbor's Toyota Camry.

He was in the Wake County jail Saturday in lieu of $5,000 bail.

What kind of sociopath soon to be serial killer does something like this? This is the next guy in the mall with a gun shooting people. This person should keep their felony charge (they will probably be dropped back) and be forced to work with animal rehab.

normal people in Raleigh do not kill and eat turtles. He was not on the farm. He killed in a common area of an apartment building.
