and must say I was impressed. You have a lovely city or I guess town. I only spent a few hours but loved your dowtown and the couple of book stores I went to. I also loved the fact you had actual gay publications with stuff for gays to do which aren't alcohol based. It sure wasn't Wilson. If I go back in June what would you suggest I see, the Biltmore is too expensive, so don't mention that.

2. Go west out to the NC Arboretum off the Parkway-its free every Tuesday |
|
The Arboretum is about ten miles west of the city but well worth a trip. I love to walk downhill from the Arboretum gardens to the creek trails. There is an outstanding bonsai garden. There is a good cafe and indoor art exhibits as well. I can easily spend several relaxing hours there enjoying the scenery. Every Tuesday is free entry however most other days it costs $6 per vehicle. The Folk Art Center on the Parkway east of town is also an enjoyable destination as is the Thomas Wolfe House downtown.

3. I know Biltmore is expensive, but it's worth it |
|
I have a season pass, but it is classy, elegant and very well-done. A gay-magnet, if you will. :)

Gawd, I love that place. Used to go camping there all the time when I lived in Asheville.
