HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Police are investigating an incident in which students and faculty at a High Point, N.C., high school said four nooses were hung from a tree at the school, reports WXII-TV.

The finding occurred Friday morning at Andrews High School.

Guilford County Schools said it was working with the High Point Police Department on the investigation.

"We want to impress upon you that this inappropriate act is not a representation of Andrews' administration, students or staff," Principal Monique Wallace said in a letter to parents.
