New Bio-Agro Defense Facility Lab in the Triangle
Many of you may have heard that the "The Department of Homeland Security" has proposed to build a new Bio-Agro Defense Facility Lab right here in our back yard. This lab will study at least 8 of the most dangerous viruses know to mankind for which there is no cure. Past history with the government running the Plum Island facility leads us to doubt the capacity to run the lab safely. There are many angles to this issue -- including the lab potentially being a bio-weapons lab fronting as a bio weapons 'defense ' lab. Ethical and environmental issues are also prominent in this situation. Once again the citizens were treated as uneducated incidental factors who had to be 'reassured.'
Please visit this website: www.nobio.org and please, if you can make it out to the Town Hall meeting -- held in the South Granville High School auditorium, you will be supporting a good cause, and it should be a very interesting evening indeed. G.N.A. T. ( Granville Nonviolent Action Team) will be having some sort of demonstration/protest prior to the beginning, and while people are arriving. We expect the media will be present. We would really like to fill the auditorium up completely with people opposed to this Dept. of Homeland Security Bio-Level Safely 4 lab. THURSDAY, February 21, 6:30 pm to 10 pm , South Granville High School Auditorium, 701 North Crescent Drive, Creedmoor, NC 27522
