Dear Governor Michael F. Easley: Today, we, your constituents from the great state of North Carolina, are writing you in regards to the upcoming presidential election in 2008. This election will, no doubt, be the most pivotal election in America's history as we currently stand at a crossroads. With the war in Iraq taking a turn for the worse, and violence in the region seemingly increasing each day, we need a president that will take a stand to bring our troops home. With partisan bickering at an all-time high, we need a president that will find areas of common ground and bring both parties together, to work towards common goals for the American people. With political action committees and lobbyists corrupting our government we need a president that will create an honest government; an ethical government that answers to its citizens.
Today, Governor Easley, we are asking you to publicly endorse Senator Barack Obama for President of the United States of America. America is in need of a new direction and we believe that Senator Obama is the only candidate with the ability to take this nation in that direction. It is a new generation, a generation that should be built around the citizens of this country. We need a new type of political leader. One that is ready to put aside partisan politics and work towards making this country what it can be and what it once was. We need a president that can build bridges and not burn them. We need a president that is respected in the world and can bring sensible solutions to Washington. We need Barack Obama.
Governor Easley, once again, the residents of North Carolina are asking you to go on record and publicly endorse Senator Barack Obama for President of the United States of America.
Sincerely,
Sincerely,
The Undersigned
