How's the flooding going?

1. I'm wondering the same. I was watching the Weather Channel,

and the predictions were downright scary!! I'm keeping North Dakotans and Minnesotans in my prayers!

Ice dams, backed up water, dang. Good luck to you and yours. Should I wish for warm (better luck for sandbagging but it will melt more) or cold (let the waters recede before more melts but dang am tired of winter)?

How about just good luck to them. Jamestown?

near a small town called LaMoure. They were without electricity overnight and had to have generators going. I don't know how it's going because I am only getting emails and with the electricity going off and on, not many of those. By the tone of the emails, they are very tired and very worried.

7. The flood is moving into I-94

My family lives close to that area. My father is in a different state on "holiday" (SOB):mad:, my mom is at work helping with evacuations and my siblings are home waiting. My aunt and her young kids were on their way to the house but my siblings haven't heard from them in hours.

I am in England and I called them a few minutes ago, I've told them to prepare to leave before its too late. I feel so helpless.

May God watch over all of them and keep them safe.

The area is very flat, and water spreads way out but isn't very deep. I think it will be a cold, wet, nasty mess, but not life threatening overall. W Fargo should be ok, and they probably ran into road blocks, or maybe stopped at the mostly vacant West Acres mall areas. I hear they are very empty today. Hang in there.

9. I feel helpless, too

My parents are west of Fargo and are currently surrounded by water and there is water coming in through some kind of duct into the basement. They have pumps going and no running water right now.

My grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a sister are in Fargo. They may be leaving Fargo on Friday to go some place safer. I know some people that died in the 1997 flood due to the road being washed out from overland flooding. I hope the roads are safe now.

I feel helpless, too, because I am currently in Korea. I hope your family stays safe, too.

11. I suppose this is as good a place as any to just say that I've been

keeping an eye on this situation for days. I listened to part of Ed Schultz's show today to try to get a feel for the situation.

I lit and candle earlier, and I hope that people are safe. Sending good thoughts from the Volunteer State. :hug:

12. kicking back to top, still watching the mess, esp with the Cheyenne River

hoping all are doing ok. Flooding, dams being threatened, small towns being evacuated, Valley City college closing for spring semester at campus...

14. That is right, I couldn't remember whom it was. If you can find picts, they can

help people empathize more than just words. To get it over now, from someone who you know doesn't mean it, "why do people insist on building huge homes right by rivers they know will flood?" Best of luck to them and I'd like to see the pictures also.

Reading about the dam on (the cheyenne?) undermining yesterday and (name of town, sorry, my mind isn't working yet) being evacuated until it was safe to go home, is just a bummer. I'm glad they got it stabilized last night. Off to read inforum.com for current news.

There are a whole lot of towns and communities and farms affected by this flooding. Best of luck to them.
