Ted up by 20% in 1st Dogpatch poll.

“Democrat Ted Strickland has surged to a surprising lead of 20 percentage points in the first Dispatch Poll on Ohio’s Nov. 7 race for governor. Meanwhile, Democrat Sherrod Brown holds an 8-point edge in his bid to unseat two-term Republican Sen. Mike DeWine.

Strickland’s 47-to-27 advantage over GOP rival J. Kenneth Blackwell is fueled by a more than 3-to-1 lead among independent voters, combined with Blackwell’s inability to sell himself to Ohio Republicans.

Here’s the link to the poll graphic sidebar

Also in the Sunday Dogpatch, a front page article interviewing Ted and BlacKKKwell about their attitudes/beliefs on religeon. Presented in a compare and contrast format. Very much worth the read

“Ohio’s next governor will be a devout Christian who readily quotes Scripture and is compelled by faith to help the less fortunate.

Even so, there is a dramatic difference in how the religious beliefs of Republican J. Kenneth Blackwell and Democrat Ted Strickland might influence public policies that affect the more than 11 million Ohioans.

Like their separate journeys to personal religious awakening, the candidates’ views on issues such as intelligent design, homosexuality and the role of religion in politics are divergent and could change Ohio’s social landscape.

1. How will Blackwell explain a 20% flip from polls to voting results
Or will this be enough to keep him from tampering with the results?

2. That is beautiful... and as we all know...
... we'll need a margin that big to defeat the cheatin' Secretary of State.

Great article about the poll and Blackwell in today's Salon... worth clicking through the ads for!
