“The nearly 100 Democratic Party volunteers gathered at state party headquarters yesterday morning heard rousing speeches from candidates, including a fresh-faced healthcare attorney and a battlehardened political veteran. (House Speaker) Husted, a Kettering Republican who helped build up a record $4 million caucus campaign fund, said his numbers show House incumbents are struggling, regardless of party affiliation.

He said he remains confident, praising his crop of candidates as ‘one of the best we’ve ever had.’ He expects they’ll do fine once they tell voters about accomplishments such as income-tax cuts.
