Jean Schmidt - lying again?
Edited on Fri Aug-25-06 01:12 PM by VolcanoJen
(Edit: I just noticed this lengthy and interesting thread about this issue over in LBN... Rep. Schmidt's marathon ad questioned)

This is amazing... why in hell would Jean lie about running a marathon? This is a pretty fierce allegation from Noy; if it's true, I'm going to be pretty disappointed that the Vic Wulsin camp didn't bring it up first.

Opponent says she didn't race in 1993 marathon - Enquirer

A panel of the Ohio Elections Commission found probable cause Thursday that false statements might have been made by the first-term Republican and her campaign about the Columbus Marathon 13 years ago.

While tossing out three other complaints filed by congressional opponent Nathan Noy, a write-in candidate from Chillicothe, the panel voted 3-1 to hear more evidence next month about Noy's complaint that Schmidt misrepresented her participation in the 26.2-mile race in and around Columbus.

Details about her marathon feats appear on her campaign Web site, but Noy claims Schmidt never ran the 1993 race and even fabricated her finish-line photo and time.

ON EDIT: Come to think of it, this photo does look a little fake... when you zoom in, it hardly looks like her, and did she had that Schmidt logo as far back as 1993?

1. And yet she'll probably get elected.
Vic needs to get on this lying issue, fast.

2. I think she's finished in politics
if the media spends enough time on this, then I think the Democratic candidate and apparatus can safely put their energy into their own message development.

I think she has already made her the laughing stock of R's and D's and (maybe especially) I's alike.
