Better do something quick or some developer will put in more subsidized housing, yeh, thats what they should do, More subsidized housing. That will empower everyone.

It's about time! The city should just bulldoze the dump now. It's interesting that the owners can't be bothered when the mayor calls, but they are quick to jump on the tenants when the rent isn't paid.

Thank you, Mayor Robart. The residents of Cuyahoga Falls deserve decent shopping and this eyesore is long past its shelf life. I'm not generally a fan of eminent domain because it's often a tool of bullies. But I agree with the mayor: We're out of options. Tear it down.

Don Robart is smart to step in now before that plaza turns into Rolling Acres Mall. Plusquallic failed to do anything over there and now we have a blighted area. The same thing is happening in Barberton with the democratic Mayor who is clueless about development. The people of the falls can be proud that they have a Mayor who actually uses his brain instead of the braindead leadership we have down in southern Summit County.

Well, that is better than what happened at Rolling Acres....well, you KNOW who took over there and the results.

1. That plaza needs to be renovated or bulldozed
Actually, I think Eminent Domain would be justified in this case. Have you actually seen what that plaza looks like? State Road today is a dying, dilapidated and rather sad shadow of the bustling shopping and entertainment corridor it once was.

The Mayor and the city of Cuyahoga Falls have been working for quite some time on getting the absentee owners to address the decaying condition of the plaza. The owners have been dragging their feet, and refusing to respond to the city's pleas for improvements. If they won't actually take care of business, the city government at the behest of its' citizens should have the right to sieze it and sell it off to a developer who will act within the best interests of the city and its' people.

I think it's funny that you emphasise Mayor Robart being a Republican. I have no particular grievance against Robart, being that I don't live or work in the Falls. But Plusquellic, the Democratic Mayor of Akron, would no doubt be doing the exact same thing.
