Quite surprising coming from them.....
Governor
Ted Strickland has the temperament, the understanding and the supporting cast to move Ohio toward wise goals
Sunday, October 08, 2006
At a time when Ohio's economic fortunes and job-generating capacities are fearfully diminished, voters are presented with two starkly different candidates in the race for governor:
Democrat Ted Strickland projects steadiness, but often appears stunningly free of vision.
Republican Ken Blackwell practically hemorrhages ideas, yet seems unencumbered by quality control.
Ohio doesn't need a caretaker in charge, so Strickland's apparent passivity is cause for concern. But even less does Ohio need a governor who would burn down state government in order to save it. Blackwell's history gives every indication that he could take that course.
Blackwell reeks of recklessness. His long record in public office suggests that he would freely engage in the exploration of potentially destructive ideas, even as he uses the governorship to make political mischief and sow social division on a grander scale than ever.
