Cincinnati Enquirer Endorses Mean Jean Schmidt
Edited on Sat Oct-28-06 10:58 PM by Connie_Corleone
I knew they would. They don't offer a good reason to vote for her as far as I can see.

(snip)

It is a very, very close call, but we endorse Schmidt for re-election over Wulsin, an esteemed expert in public health and epidemiology who has done noble work in the fight against AIDS.

The bottom line here is that Schmidt is a better legislator, advocates for her district’s residents well, and is showing growth in her still-new job. She won high marks for helping to deal with the styrene leak in eastern Cincinnati shortly after she took office, has worked on several projects for her district, and has stressed constituent service with her staff.

While Schmidt has a solid legislative record in the Ohio House, Wulsin has never held elective office. She has considerable experience in the public sector on health issues, and can have an engaging personal style, but remains a political neophyte whose inexperience has shown in this campaign.

1. Shocker!
Could the Enquirer (Fishwrap) be more out-of-touch? Three deeply flawed and unpopular candidates, in the three biggest races, and they choose to endorse each of them in turn.

What's next? Have they endorsed Steve Chabot yet?

3. Enquirer endorsed Cranley today
On page E-1 of the Enquirer Cranley endorsed (unfortunately Schmidt & Boehner endorsed also).

2. Not sure what it will take...
for all of Southwestern Ohio to repudiate this pathetic 'paper' and send it to the dustbin where it belongs... maybe if Jerry Springer wasn't such a tightwad, he would invest his own vast fortune to start a more liberal paper, but that's if he wasn't such a greedy perv...

5. The Cincinnati Enquirer is crap wrap...
I rarely read it. I usually buy it on Sunday at the dollar store ($.99) for the TV program and the coupons. Half the rest goes into recycling, and I keep half to wrap whatever icky garbage I have.
