1. I don't particularly think its funny....
...I know they are making fun of the dumb statue, but it stinks too much of making fun of Jesus. Pretty Stupid IMO.

2. Well, that depends
The whole "statue" itself is pretty offensive. It's "show and glow" religiosity taken to a ridiculous and repulsive extreme. Other than that, the thing is just tacky as hell.
