1. Hamilton County 1st Congressional District
1ST Congressional District DEM Cranley versus Chabot
Hamilton County

1.Enquirer endorses Cranley
The race for Ohio’s First Congressional District offers voters a choice between a veteran worker and an energetic leader. It is time for the district’s representative to pick up the pace. For that reason we endorse Democratic challenger John Cranley over incumbent Steve Chabot.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

But a poll released this week by the wire service Reuters found Space with a huge lead over Padgett, 58 percent to 33 percent. National GOP officials, who have spent more than $3 million to try to hold the seat, reportedly are eliminating or reducing television buys across the district and may shift some time to embattled GOP Rep. Deborah Pryce of Upper Arlington.

3. SENATE Sherrod Brown

Brown ahead 6 points in poll
Senate in the balance as GOP candidates gain in key races

Stephen Koff
Plain Dealer Washington Bureau Chief
Unless two-term Republican Sen. Mike DeWine can pull a stunning turnaround this weekend and persuade a lot more people to vote for him, he is likely to lose on Tuesday to Democratic challenger Sherrod Brown, a pre-election Plain Dealer poll shows. ...

..Significantly for Brown, 12 percent of Republicans polled said they plan to vote for Brown.

Yet only 4 percent of Democrats said they would cross over and vote for DeWine. And Brown support was broader among a group coveted by both parties — independents — with 51 percent saying they’ll vote for Brown and only 38 percent favoring DeWine.
