I assume it is okay to post this email in its entirety. Morning in Cincy, Lunchtime in Columbus, Afternoon + Evening in Cleveland.
It looks like all events except the public rally will cost you a few Steak Dinners :-).
SUBODH CHANDRA
CLEVELAND, OHIO
Dear Friends:
Over the last few months, like many Americans, I have been watching, listening to, and reading about Senator Barack Obama, wondering, "Could he be the real thing?"
I have watched Senator Obama's remarkable ability to engage people across the political spectrum and bring them together. In his first book, I read his life's story, and began to appreciate the personal experiences that underscore his devotion to public service. In his second book, I read his candid and enlightening appraisal of America's past, present challenges, and future (if we choose wisely).
And then, finally, I realized. Every generation, history offers America a leader who fits the moment: someone to steer us from the abyss, restore hope, and take us closer to living up to our ideals as a nation.
I'm a tad too young to remember, but I imagine this is what it was like for those who experienced Robert Kennedy's campaign, when America was as challenged as it is today.
My triplets boys, third-generation Americans, turn three years old this month. They are already saying, "Obama for President."
How can we deny them that future?
Best personal regards,
Subodh
