Ohio House Speaker Jon Husted said Friday he is frustrated by Gov. Ted Strickland's reluctance to share with him and other Republican leaders more information about key elements of his proposed 2008-2009 budget.
"We have a responsibility to work together no matter how inappropriately they treated us," Husted said in an interview.
Strickland, the first Democratic governor in 16 years, released a 1,000-page proposal Thursday detailing his spending plans. The House begins its budget hearings Tuesday.
Husted said the document "is moderately helpful in the big picture, but if you don't understand the underlying rationale and language, it could just be stealing from here to get there," he said.
Send him a crying towel. We didn't treat him right. Sob. Sob. Sob.
