COLUMBUS, Ohio - A man who admitted to killing a woman over a few hundred dollars was sentenced Friday to life in prison with no chance of parole.
The deal with prosecutors spared Ryan Baker (pictured, right) the possibility of receiving the death penalty, 10TV's Patrick Bell reported.
In October 2006, police said Baker killed Angela Farthing inside her home on the city's west side. According to prosecutors, Baker walked into her home on Joyful Street and demanded money. When she refused, Baker attacked her, hitting her several times in the head with a large rock.
Farthing (pictured, below) was also stabbed several times and her throat was cut, Bell reported.
The murder took place in the room next to where Farthing's 1-year-old son slept, Bell reported.
