They are just waking up to what we figured out on March 6th & 7th. I was a bit surprised that Barack didn't take Mississippi by a bigger margin, apparently the R voters are energized by their success.

For a party that loves to hate the Clintons, Republican voters have cast an awful lot of ballots lately for Senator Hillary Clinton: About 100,000 GOP loyalists voted for her in Ohio, 119,000 in Texas, and about 38,000 in Mississippi, exit polls show.

According to exit polling data and pundit estimates, Hillary would have carried Ohio anyway. She led by 220,000 votes.

1. Be careful of what you wish for, GOP.

I seem to recall the Dukakis people being pretty pleased that the R.'s nominated a Dufus like Bush Sr. The Gore people were even more pleased by the selection of our national village idiot as the R. candidate. I voted for the non-Bush in the 2000 R. primary (you can do that in OH) because even though I prefered Gore, McCain was preferable to Bush.

2. It's like that PD poll I posted a week ago.

And that has been borne out nationally for weeks now. HRC is the weaker candidate against McCain; everybody knows it. There is just so much blood in the water with both her and Bill that the GOP cannot resist. If you can have your opposition do almost all of your heavy lifting for you -- why not?

If she gets the nomination, might as well just close up shop on Labor Day and prepare for McCain's inaugural.

But more to the point, I think these numbers again show why Ohio should revisit its primary system.

It's speculation either way. It would not be below the RW media to urge R.s to cross over and vote for H. just to put that idea in our heads.

I remember what's now called "cross-over voting" from 9th grade Civics class, and that was a looong time ago.
