My understanding is that this meeting finalizes the Ohio Delegation to the National Convention.
I looked at the event's itinerary
http://www.ohiodems.org/site/c.mhLRKZPCLmF/b.3940859/but there is no mention of officially voting in the elected delegates.
Maybe that happens during dinner?
I thought there was a "call to order" for an official meeting.
There's no mention of that in their itinerary.
From the Green Papers
Ohio Democrat Presidential Nominating Process
Tuesday 4 March 2008: 141 of 162 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are allocated to presidential contenders based on the results of the voting in today's Ohio Presidential Primary. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be allocated National Convention delegates at either the congressional district or statewide level.
* 92 district delegates are to be allocated proportionally to presidential contenders based on the primary results in each of the State's 18 congressional districts.
o CDs 1,2,4,5,7,8,15: 4 delegates each
o CDs 3,6,12,16,18: 5 delegates each
o CDs 9,10,13,14: 6 delegates each
o CD 17: 7 delegates
o CD 11: 8 delegates
* In addition, 49 delegates are to be allocated to presidential contenders based on the primary vote statewide.
o 31 at-large National Convention delegates
o 18 Pledged PLEOs
Saturday 10 May 2008: State Executive Committee
The remaining 21 National Convention delegates consist of
* 19 Unpledged PLEO delegates:
o 9 Democratic National Committee members.
o 8 Members of Congress (1 Senator and 7 Representatives).
o 1 Governor.
o 1 Distinguished Party Leader (former DNC Chairman David Wilhelm)
* 2 Unpledged "add-on"s (selected by the State Executive Committee).
These 21 delegates and will go to the Democratic National Convention officially "Unpledged".
So there should be some kind of "swearing in" of the delegates to the Denver convention, no?
I'd go but have conflicting plans (damn)
SOMEBODY FROM OH DU PLEASE GO!
