Welcome to the show that never ends....
FBI may check out Dann:

Dann denies resigning as deal falls through: (Deal as in, I'll quit if you don't investigate me.)

Dispatch site also has the articles of impeachment on a separate file.

Just what is this asshat trying to prove?

2. Sad to say your right.
The longer he stays in office the worse he is making things for the State Democratic Party come november. Taft made it VERY easy for Strickland to win the office and frankly I am suprised that Dann won his seat because I know for a fact that the people that work at BCI directly under Dann were throwing a party when Montgomery announced she was considering a run again.

6. Coingate? What was that?
Whatever this is -- and all signs point to it being VERY BAD -- could make the Taft era actually look good.

The gaming ties especially concern me, since the casino issue is (for whatever reason, since voters convincingly rejected it the last time) coming back from the dead. Maybe there's no link, but any kind of shadiness in this area is enough to start asking questions.

He has to go. If it's by perp walk or not, I don't care. Strickland does not need this distraction going into November. (But look on the bright side, folks -- at least now he probably won't be at the top of anybody's short list for VP. :sarcasm: )

4. Press Conf w/ Dann Scheduled for Noon Wed
WCPN 90.3 Cleveland Public Radio broke from regular programming to cover this presser.

So far it has not started and they've gone back to regular programming.

Tune in to your local Ohio Public Radio or stream at www.wcpn.org

They will break in when the presser starts, probably coming up soon.

5. Dann's Offices on "Lock-down."
From Buckeye State Blog:

"This just gets stranger and stranger...

The Dispatch's "Daily Briefing" blog now says that the Ohio Highway Patrol has placed the 17th floor (where Dann's office is) of the Rhodes Tower on "lock-down" to preserve evidence. Troopers are apparently verifying employee ID's and searching bags leaving the office.

Update: I'm getting confirmation that Dann's office is locked down. I'm also hearing rumors about possible criminal charges.

Stay tuned for more breaking news coverage."

9. He is gone, He resigned effective today
http://www.wbns10tv.com/live/content/local/stories/2008/05/14/story_dann.html?sid=102

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Attorney General Marc Dann announced his resignation Wednesday afternoon following a sexual harassment scandal that has plagued his office for more than a month.

Dann, 46, made the announcement with Gov. Ted Strickland by his side, 10 Investigates' Paul Aker reported.

He spoke for less than five minutes before exiting the room.

"It is now clear to me that the only way to protect these priorities for the office of attorney general and for the people of Ohio is to remove myself from the situation," Dann said. "This will preserve the great work being done by the office of attorney general."
