Ohio lottery winner killed in car accident
CRYSTAL ROCK, Ohio, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- An Ohio woman who was out celebrating her recent lottery win was killed by a motorist as she walked along a highway, police said.
Deborah McDonald, 47, of Crystal Rock, spent her last day Tuesday with her husband, Robert, and friends Sherry Blissit and Darrell Ring, the Sandusky (Ohio) Register reported.
The four were out at a restaurant for a meal treated by McDonald the day she received a $5,520 check after winning $8,000 in the Ohio Lottery Cash Explosion Double Play. The TV episode with McDonald is scheduled to air this Saturday, the newspaper said.
During the celebration, McDonald, the mother of six children, left and had gone a few hundred feet along the highway when she was struck by a car driven by Eleanor Stults, 48, of Fremont. McDonald died instantly, the Register said.
