I don't know about you but I'm against Issue 2. As I understand it, this one is about approving an address change for a casino in Columbus. I'm against these casino. Like the Lotto, they suck the hard earned money out of poor and working class people and pipeline it straight out of the state and justify it all by giving a pittance to education. Sorry, but that's an upside-down way of looking at the problem. I say we go back to pre-1980's thinking and TAX THE RICH. The rich make money because the rest of us create a good society for them to do business in. Therefore they should be expected to pay a fair share. Instead we have casino gambling and lotto that steals the money out of the pockets of people who work for a living. I say Vote NO on Issue 2.

I feel taxes ought to be fair for everyone.

If you tax the rich too much, they usually have many choices to go elsewhere and without their tax base our children & elderly will suffer the most.

I think that is a an ill-conceived idea, take a chill pill.

3. Here's the way I see it.

I don't think the state constitution exists for legislation. That's what the General Assembly does. If we want casino gambling in Ohio, then the legislature should simple pass a law allowing it under certain conditions. I voted against the original casino authorization because it wrote it into the constitution and essentially created a monopoly for one of a few companies. Having gotten what they want, they are now asking for a relocation, again by constitutional amendment. My feeling is they got exactly what they asked for and are in no position to complain about it.

As far as "fair" taxation goes, the middle and lower classes bear a disproportionate burden. I would like to see upper income taxes--including taxes on estates--raised to Nixon-era levels. And if we are going o tax the poor, then tax them. Don't deceive them into thinking they have a chance to get rich.

Amending the constitution was a really stupid thing to do. They won, now they need to play with the cards they dealt themselves.

Your second paragraph nailed it on taxes. You need to run for office.

5. Don't Think You Understand Issue 2-- Vote Yes!

Personally, I voted against the casinos last Nov., but we lost. This is not up for vote again. There will be a casino in Franklin Co. no matter what. Done deal. Your post make it sound like a 'no' vote means no casino, but it absolutely doesn't.

Voting 'yes' which all of our Dem. leaders support, means moving the casino location from near the Arena District to the old Dephi plant. Cleaning up the abandoned plant, bringing jobs to the more depressed west side, and have more tax money go to the schools in that area are all good things. This is the best option after the passage last Nov.

6. Thanks for clarifying this

I have heard so much about "vote no, don't want the casinos" and I'm tired of expalaining it to people. Vote yes, the casino is here to stay and this yes vote will do just as Lady President said.

7. As I understand the crux of Issue 2, it will allow the casino in Columbus to me

re-located and the people in Columbus that I have talked with are dead against the move.

8. I voted against issue 2 on my absentee ballot

The address of some casino is not a matter for the Ohio Constitution. I'm voting against all casino-related amendments on that principle.
