Think about it ...
On Harriet Miers: "I think the fact she doesn't have judicial experience will add to the diversity of the Supreme Court... There is no reason everyone has to have that same (judicial) background." (that apparently wouldn't apply to Sonya Sotomayor, right?)
And then, you have him in the "gang of 14" ... those that opposed the "nuclear option" which would have ended the filibuster. Before the Republicans re-embraced the tool of the minority party, the Republican voters turned their back on him and he lost to a candidate who the "liberal media" would term an ultra-leftie, Sherrod Brown (you know, the man whom "know-everything" Rush Limbaugh said voters only elected him because he was black).
Mike DeWhine was too "centrist" for the Republicans of the time. Now that the Tea party is taking over the Republican base (at least, according to the media), how the hell could they accept him as far right enough???
Oh, I guess that the Teahadists who go on and on about getting rid of the "corrupt" politicians inviting convicted felon James Traficant to speak at their whine sessions means that they can hang the principles when it's convenient ...
