Common sense finally seems to be breaking through the Columbus clouds about irresponsible legislation to allow concealed weapons in bars (and in restaurants and other places with liquor permits).
Such a bill passed the Ohio Senate last week by a 25-7 vote, which was not entirely a surprise given the upper house's longstanding tradition of kowtowing to the handgun lobby.
Yet it appears the Ohio House -- also Republican-led, and popularly believed to be more conservative than the Senate -- is having second thoughts.
One reason is the Ohio Restaurant Association, which opposes the bill. ...
Striding alongside in the Statehouse parade of Senate irresponsibility were two suburban Youngstown Democrats: Capri Cafaro (who went so far as to co-sponsor the bill) and Joe Schiavoni.
