Here in Ohio, there is polling that suggests We Are Ohio, the coalition of labor and liberal groups pushing for repeal of Senate Bill 5, have the numbers on their side.

A Quinnipiac University poll conducted in May had 54 percent of the registered voters polled saying they favor repeal of the law, while 36 percent said they want to keep it in place.

“It’s the kind of issue that can galvanize the Democratic base,” said Jason Johnson, political science professor at Hiram College. “It’s this year’s version of the gay marriage amendment.”
