I'm from California and was listening to the Stephanie Miller show this morning. She announced that her show had a new affiliate, WABQ in Cleveland, Ohio. Clevescene.com
reported: "Frustrated liberal listener, Gary Richards...is set to launch WABQ-AM 1460, a progressive talk station due to ramp up next Monday, August 1. 'You can move across your AM dial and hear Rush Limbaugh on 10 different stations,' says Richards. 'It’s as if the conservatives have a corner on the market. But it seems there’s a large unserved or underserved progressive niche here. There’s nobody to tell their side of the story, and that’s what we’re here for.'" However, WABQ's
daytime signal is strongest in the eastern suburbs and weakens in downtown Cleveland. The transmitter is in Mentor, a city in a Republican district OH-14 (of Steven LaTourette) and reaches mostly OH-11 (of Marcia Fudge, D). It's great that the progressive message has another media outlet in the nation, but it's disappointing that people living in Dennis Kucinich's or Betty Sutton's districts will have to listen to static with the talk.
