White wedding for Congressman Steven Latourette & lobbyist pal

Ok, the only thing white about this wedding is that the pair are both white people. Latourette ,R-Concord (or is it really Washington, DC now that his wife threw him out on account of his adultery), is marrying a lobbyist seventeen years his junior.

This is a man who campaigned on morals with extensive backing by the Christian Reconstructionist political-types who are too common in Lake County.

LaTourette, lobbyist to marry in February

Washington- U.S. Rep. Steve LaTourette of Concord Township and Washington lobbyist Jennifer Laptook, whose relationship became a campaign issue last fall, are getting married in February.

LaTourette was re-elected in November to his sixth term. Laptook had been his chief of staff but resigned in 2003 to join Van Scoyoc and Associates, a lobbying firm.

She helps clients with interests before Congress and has promoted her working experience with LaTourette and her knowledge of the House Transportation Committee.

LaTourette, 50, is on that committee, which writes legislation providing millions of dollars for local projects. Although Laptook's clients, such as the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority, benefit from the legislation, LaTourette has said that Laptook, 33, does not lobby him.
